Stellar bodies

Part of the Star systems guide

Stellar bodies are the planets, moons and other objects in a star system. Your buildings go on their tiles.

The inhabited planet in the bodies list: its three potentials and its building tiles
A habitable planet with its three potentials (1), its tiles (2) and its infrastructure tile (3).

Body types

Each body is rolled within these ranges when the galaxy is created.

Body Tiles Orbiting bodies Industrial Potential Scientific Potential Appeal Potential
Habitable planet 6–8 0–1 Moon 1–5 1–5 1–5
Barren planet 6–8 0–1 Moon 1–5 1–5 1–5
Gas giant 0 1–3 Moon — — —
Asteroid belt 0 1–4 Asteroid — — —
Moon 1–3 — 1–5 1–5 1–4
Asteroid 1–3 — 1–5 1–4 1–5

The infrastructure tile

Tile 1 of every planet is its infrastructure tile. Only an infrastructure building goes there. That is the Megapolis on a habitable planet and the Central Hub on a barren planet. A planet's other tiles need its infrastructure building first. See Infrastructure first. Moons and asteroids have no infrastructure tile.

Potentials

Every body with tiles has three potentials: Industrial Potential, Scientific Potential and Appeal Potential. Some buildings make more on a body with a high potential.

Star types

The star type sets how many bodies a system has, not counting moons and asteroids.

Star type Bodies
White dwarf 4–6
Red dwarf 4–6
Orange dwarf 5–7
Yellow dwarf 6–8
Red giant 5–7
Blue giant 5–7

Some game modes change the body and star rolls. Outside a daily, your first system always has the same bodies, so it can fall outside these ranges. See Star systems.
